Bill McHale, Chief Executive Officer

“I lead Actix with two principles in mind: remaining at the cutting edge of an industry that is moving at breakneck speed, and delivering high quality, high value business solutions to our customers.”

A successful leader of management teams for over 15 years, before joining Actix Bill was with Argo Global Capital, a venture capital company specializing in telecoms, wireless, and internet technologies. He served on the board of directors of SurfKitchen Inc., uReach Technologies Inc., PhyFlex Inc., and Sylantro Inc..

As Chairman and CEO of telecoms software company DSET Corp., Bill led a successful IPO on NASDAQ. During his 5 years there, the company was recognized as one the fastest growing and most profitable software companies in its segment.

Bill also spent 7 years running early stage software companies, worked in sales and marketing positions at IBM, Wang Laboratories and Digital Equipment Corporation, and was a Lieutenant in the United States Navy.

 

Tim Newbegin, Chief Financial Officer

“We take best practice seriously and are constantly looking for opportunities to improve every aspect of what we do.”

A highly experienced finance professional, Tim is responsible for all areas of finance, legal and administration at Actix. He joined the company from the Link Financial Group, a Venture Capital backed financial service company where he was Group Finance Director.

Tim honed his skills in a variety of finance positions including Group Financial Controller at Actix from 2005 - 2008.  He also worked for Wolters Kluwer, where he was responsible for Group Financial Planning & Analysis, and PricewaterhouseCoopers in both the Audit and Valuation & Strategy departments.  Tim is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Richard Kateley, Chief Technology Officer

Richard draws on over 20 years of wireless telecom and application development experience overseeing our products and technology.

Previously, he co-founded Watchmark Corporation (now IBM Corp.) and served as EVP and CTO. At Watchmark, Richard led the invention of the Service Quality Management (SQM) segment for the wireless industry.

Richard has also been a senior network executive at T-Mobile, Alcatel and Action Engine and a finalist in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards.
 

Chris Beukers, Senior Vice President, Global Customer Operations

“It’s about understanding each customer’s business challenges, giving them a solution aligned to their priorities and continuing to ensure they get the operational support they need to realize the value of their investment.”

Chris oversees global customer operations including sales, professional services and customer support for Actix, making use of over 20 years of experience in the wireless and IT industries.

He began his career with Compaq Computer in Europe and later led sales and services operations for Centigram and Lotus/IBM across Asia Pacific. Most recently, Chris held executive roles in sales and marketing in a number of venture-backed wireless companies including @Motion (now Openwave), Valista (now AePONA) and QPass (now Amdocs).

Neil Coleman, Director of Global Marketing

Neil draws on over 15 years of industry experience in marketing, product management and R&D roles at Actix, Micromuse and IBM. Over the last 6 years he has been responsible for bringing Actix’s ground-breaking suite of mobile analytics and optimization solutions to market. These solutions are helping over 100 operators improve mobile customer experience and streamline their technology rollouts.

At Micromuse Neil was instrumental in the development of their service management product line. Starting from scratch it grew to account for over 30% of Micromuse revenues within 2 years. Subsequent to this he led the creation of Micromuse’s traffic monitoring solution. At IBM he was responsible for IBM’s SLA management portfolio, helping establish IBM’s positioning in an emerging field.

 

René Pritchard, Director of Professional Services

“Having a good idea, or great software, isn’t enough. You need a dedicated and inspired team to deliver high value business solutions. Enabling customers to squeeze optimal value out of their investment is a core principle at Actix.”

René has spent his career designing, developing, and delivering software.  He is responsible for the Actix Professional Services and Support Organization, which gives him the opportunity to interact with likeminded people, and ensure the team has a thorough understanding of customer priorities.

René has been with Actix for more than a decade working on a wide range of projects, including developing ActixOne from concept stage. He was heavily involved in establishing the Actix Global Solution Centre, which delivers capabilities for reports, dashboards, analytics, and data integration. 

Technology, and specifically software, has always been René’s passion. He gets high levels of personal satisfaction out of being part of a motivated, innovative team, solving formidable problems, and delivering cutting-edge solutions.

Gene Ong, Global Solutions Centre Director

“At the Global Solutions Centre we constantly face new challenges as our customers' business needs evolve. It's our mission to build innovative solutions and find ways for them to extract value from ActixOne as quickly as possible.”

Gene’s role combines running the Global Solutions Centre, and managing services and support for customers throughout APAC and the Middle East. His team delivers capabilities for reports, dashboards, analytics, and data integration, and provides support.

Gene’s 10+ years in the telecoms industry span consultancy, application development and testing, and support. His career took him from a Malaysian bank to billing with LHS Systems (now Ericsson). At Intec Systems (now CSG International) he worked with convergent mediation solutions and had consultancy, project management and people management responsibilities. Before joining Actix he held a software development management role for IBM’s Tivoli Netcool OMNIbus setup, supporting customers globally.

 

Jason Ramsden, Director of Wireless Consulting

“Understanding the key customer experience challenges faced by mobile operators and translating them into high impact network and engineering changes is the basis of good wireless consultancy. But only when the client can see a measureable improvement have you succeeded.”

Jason is a skilled leader, manager and engineer with a career of over 20 years in the terrestrial and satellite telecommunications industry. His experience spans portfolio and strategy planning, business development, marketing, and network optimization. As Director of Wireless Consulting, he is responsible for all aspects of GSM, UMTS and LTE Wireless Consultancy Services within Actix.

The early years of Jason’s career were spent working for the UK Government. During this time he worked on defining RF algorithms to verify satellite communication payload performance and then on prototype development of miniature satellite terminals for installation on tactical aircraft.

Following this Jason focused on developing and delivering a novel RF optimization and spectrum re-farming service for Motorola, followed by senior roles within product management for the development of optimization, OSS and BSS software.
