Take the Path to a Self-Optimizing Network.

We enable our customers to automate their optimization process as much as possible, with an ultimate goal of reaching autonomous, self-optimizing networks (SON). Self-optimizing networks, also commonly referred to as self-organizing networks, represent an industry vision championed by the Next Generation Mobile Networks Alliance (NGMN). As a member of NGMN, Actix actively works to meet and extend the NGMN vision, giving us a unique perspective on the inherent challenges and benefits of SON.

How far and how quickly each operator chooses to move along the path to SON will depend on a variety of factors, from the challenges of re-engineering legacy systems and processes, to the availability of supporting features from network equipment. Our approach embraces this reality and enables our customers to introduce the right level of automation for each process they run. To simplify and accelerate the journey to SON, we have developed a step-by-step approach that delivers concrete benefits at each step, while creating a building block for adding additional automation in the future. Automate Data Processing & Visualization with Step 1: Visualize.

The first step is "visualize." At this stage, we implement analytics to automate processing, management, and visualization of key mobile network data sources. This step is the core building block of SON, ensuring high-quality network data is accessible and providing a unified framework for monitoring and controlling intelligent algorithms. The step also enables a variety of optimization solutions which relate to visualization of mobile network data in dashboards and reports.

Automate Problem Detection and Diagnosis with Step 2: Analyze.

The next step is "Analyze." In this step, we implement intelligent analytics to automate the re-active detection of network performance problems, or the pro-active identification of performance improvement opportunities. In addition, we identify root causes of problems or sub-optimal performance. Based on our findings, we prioritize detected problems based on potential financial impact.

Automate Solution-Finding and Implementation with Step 3: Optimize.

The final step is "optimize." This step is broken into two phases, "semi-automatic optimization" and "fully automatic optimization." During the semi-automatic optimization phase, we implement analytics that provide recommended solutions, which optimization engineers can then review and verify. In the fully automatic optimization phase, we achieve the last step to the "self-optimizing" vision, and implement autonomous and unattended solution-finding analytics.
