Device Performance
How Can You Ensure the Quality of Smartphones?
With a tsunami of smartphones and data devices and less and less time to test pre-launch, how can you ensure the quality of smartphones in the live network?
Major operators are publicly acknowledging that the flood of smartphones and data devices has broken traditional testing approaches. With the complexity of data devices, post-launch problems are the new norm, from high profile hardware issues to more subtle mobility, RF or call quality issues.
Compare Smartphone Performance in the Live Network.
The Device Performance solution from Actix addresses this challenge by using real subscriber data to compare the performance of devices in the live network. Built on our ActixOne platform, the solution automatically processes subscriber trace data which includes rich RF, call & data session information broken down by device type for every subscriber on the network. Using the subscriber trace data each device can be ranked and compared on the basis of statistics such as dropped calls or lost data connections broken down by release codes. The release codes can then be used to highlight potential issues, such as devices with poor RF sensitivity leading to higher levels of coverage-related drops.

Once symptoms of problems have been identified, device vendors can be provided with detailed information about the symptoms, enabling a rapid fix to any issues and ensuring the quality of future device releases.
